What is your wedding photography style?

I have a classic wedding photography style. I believe in honest photos. What made a great photograph 20 years ago still makes a great photograph today. Composition, lighting, setting, shot timing... these photographic skills are what separate the new era of digital Photoshop artists from the real photographers. When you look through my gallery, you will notice a variety of shots. I use the most modern techniques and approach each wedding with an artistic eye. I sit with each couple and perform an in-depth assessment of their needs and desires. This will help us determine how you want your wedding captured and your memories preserved. This is your opportunity to tell me your expectations for your ideal wedding photography, and it is my job to meet those expectations.

What makes a professional wedding photographer?

There are many things that separate one wedding photographer from another. I pride myself in maintaining a high professional standard when it comes to your wedding photography.

Here are a few important features I offer my customers that help set me apart as a professional:

I will be prepared for your event!

I have heard horror stories over the years of photographers forgetting to charge their batteries, or forgetting their low light lens. These mistakes can be disastrous for your wedding photography. I will not only ensure that my photography equipment is as ready as I am, but I will take the time to review your wedding day schedule of events and know what is happening next before it happens.

I will have a shot list ready.

I will work with you to create a specific list of must have shots you want included in your wedding photography package. A well-defined shot list, prepared in advance, ensures that we all have the same expectations on the day of your special event.

I enlist the help of a "Family Photo Coordinator"

You will be so overwhelmed with wedding preparations and the excitement of the big day, we don’t expect you to have the time to coordinate your wedding photography and try to assemble people for group photographs. I’ve found it is helpful to brides and grooms if I can coordinate with a family member or friend that can act as a liaison during the wedding for getting people together. They will be more familiar with personalities and where people might be throughout the event.

I scout the location prior to the event.

If I have never shot wedding photography at your location before, then I will scout the location ahead of time to find the best place for me to capture the best shots. This leaves me prepared and allows me to think through some of the wedding photography in advance.

I will be everywhere but be invisible.

I work very hard to make sure I am in the right spot at the right time. With that said, that last thing you want to have is my camera beeping during your wedding ceremony or flashing at the wrong time. I understand how to be bold enough to get great photography without being noticed. My job is the capture the event in photos, not to be the event.
